Coastal Mediterranean in Southern CA
Terranea is an oceanfront resort hotel located in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. It is a vast collection of buildings including the four-hundred guestroom main hotel featuring multiple restaurants and bars, and a specialty restaurant, spa, pools, bungalows and villas. The interiors in the main building were designed to embrace the Mediterranean heritage of the area and integrate with the architecture.
Design Team:
Libby worked with BAMO for five years on Terranea, from design development to completion and installation. Her role included specification and selection of FF and E and custom furniture, carpet, textile, and lighting designs. See services for more details.

Main Building Terranea
The Main building at Terranea was designed to be the most traditional in Mediterranean style, housing the lobby, lobby bar, and over 400 guestrooms and suites. Design direction in the guestrooms included a coastal feel, emphasized by driftwood headboards. All photos below courtesy of BAMO.
Ancillary Buildings and Pools
The surrounding ancillary buildings housing the spa, restaurants, and pools are less formal, and depart from the more traditional design of the main building.
